Entered to the left hand side, where there seems to be a theme of chipboard covered walls. The right hand bar has three hand pulls and the left hand side has one. I think I saw a chalk board on the right hand side with a list. My ale was served a little on the warm side. Lilley's ciders advertised (presumably bag-in-a-box).

Pizza, sides, nachos and a small plates menu is available. Snacks including scampi fries and pork scratchings also available at the bar.

Live sport was showing but muted with music playing that felt a bit lively for the small afternoon audience.

The left hand room has a couple of semi circular booths and a pool table. It really feels quite basic on the inside compared to its grand tiled exterior, which I think is something I noticed on my previous visit a few years ago. The right hand side is smarter than the left. The left side certainly feels rough and ready, and the toilets here have seen better days.

Somewhat underwhelming, though I imagine this place could get a bit lively of a weekend.

A good drinkers' pub in the redevelopment area near the station. Two bars with an outdoor area behind and a function room upstairs. It has a great and changing selection of beers - a very nice Three Brothers Hazelnut Latte Milk Stout enjoyed on this visit.

The ‘wrong side’ of the thundering A road via a set of traffic lights that seem designed to be a hindrance to pedestrians (I elected to tap into my inner Horace Goes Skiing and race through the gaps). It’s a magnificent looking place with a lovely tiled exterior. The more modern interior is set-out over two rooms with different cask in each, check the board for a full listing. Decor and music a little bit too contemporary for my tastes but comfy enough. My choice of Barnsley Bitter was fine (NBSS 3), served-up by a friendly and chatty landlord. GBG listed and handy for the station.
