The Marlborough is a decent looking stone built corner pub, that is a short walk from the middle of Barnsley.
Once inside there is a small single opened out room which i divided into two areas, the bar is on the rear left side, both side of the room are carpeted and have comfy bench seating and chairs, there was a TV to the front showing crap daytime TV programmes.
There were no real ales on the bar,the keg bitter option was John Smiths smooth crap, but having a look at the drinkers in the pub all were on the lager,so i had a drink of Carlsburg, which was drinkable.
This is a locals pub that not many other drinkers would go in.
I like doing pubs like this as they are now a dying breed.

Despite several signs on the walls of the pub declaring that they serve cask conditioned ales, there are actually no hand pumps on the bar and the only bitters are John Smiths, regular or hyper-cooled smooth. No rating as I didn't have a drink.
