Refurbished just before Covid, this is a smart and welcoming bar on a corner opposite the old town hall. I hesitated at the door, thinking I should be making my way to the nearby football ground as it was approaching 3pm, but the woman behind the bar called out to me to "come on in!", so I did. No real ale, so it was my third half of Guinness in my third pub in Wombwell. Another cold one, but only £2. This pub was quieter than the other two, which were back street or high street locals. This one is more of an acquired taste, I guess, with a small group of regulars clustered around the bar. I'll let my photos speak as to the interior, apart from saying I've seen a lot worse. I hesitated between a 5 or a 6; just one hand pump with a half decent cask beer might have seen it reach a 7.
