Seems to have gone downhill since I was a regular years ago. The lower side of the pub is now a separate shop promising 'Natural Magick'. What remains is an L-Shaped bar. One hand pull but no cask on, and from other reviews it appears this has been the case for a number of years. There was only 1 pale ale on keg, the rest was (mainly Thatcher's) cider and the standard lager selection. Pool table round the corner of the 'L'. Pub still displays the cask head labels of the ales it no longer sells! Unfortunately there are far better pubs in Frome so in future I'll save myself the walk up Catherine hill and give The Sun Inn a miss.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Sun Inn
Looks promising from the street, but rather more basic (in terms of furniture, decor and - to be frank - customers) than expected inside. Still, the opened-out 'L'-shaped bar is reassuringly traditional and if you like a more basic type of boozer then this may appeal. Also has a small patio beer garden out back. Thankfully, it does still do real ale and my pint of Moles Dark (£2.80) was in decent shape.

Great pub, great atmosphere, decent pint, massive range of spirits, superb juke box, pool table, good food, beautiful courtyard garden and its a B&B too!! What more could you ask for....?? Four Stars **** Well worth the walk up the hill.
