Strongers . left this review about Cross Foxes
The carpeted Cross Foxes has a dartboard to the right adjacent to a U-shaped serving counter on the right-hand wall where standard keg is available alongside seven hand pumps that were drawing Bass, Three Tuns Brewery’s Bishop’s Castle and Wye Valley’s Butty Bach. To the left of the entrance brown banquettes run across the front window and up the left-hand wall towards the rear. World Cup football was on the television while some awful high school musical type songs played in the background. The service was polite, but I’d have preferred to watch the football without the soundtrack, so I regretted ordering a pint rather than a half. These traditional backstreet boozers are normally my favourite, but I was glad to leave.

An old fashioned single room local, unchanged from reviews below. If you like your traditional locals pubs and don’t feel like being too experimental with your ale, it’s definitely worth a visit. The Bass is certainly well kept.

Outside the city centre, from which it is easy to get to by a footbridge across the river, this is off the beaten track for tourists. Unless it's beer tourists, of course, because this is a destination pub. Though first and foremost it's a locals pub, and these locals seem to like their beer. There are four hand pumps on the front corner of the bar, with three of them repeated towards the rear (see my photo for the three - I seem to have missed the fourth). I went for the Bass, perhaps influenced by the prominent red triangle on the front of the pub. Definitely worth crossing the river for this one.
