The Bulls Head has a wooden floored area to the left where tables, chairs and a repurposed barrel table with high stools are faced by banquettes and tables up the left-hand wall either side of the fireplace that houses a gas heater that sits behind an iron grill. The right-hand side of the pub is carpeted with more tables and chairs, some of which were sat on the dart oche across the front windows. The counter across the rear wall was being run by a polite member of staff and there was some 20th century background music playing. I got into a conversation with a local at the counter and forgot to note the available draught. I’d class this as a high street pub that I wouldn’t go out of my way to revisit, but I’d pop back if passing with some time to kill.

Virtually the closest pub to the station, with 30 minutes to spare before getting my train, this was the final stop of my 12-pub crawl. Despite the location and attractive façade, this is as mentioned a rather basic place.
At only seven o'clock, the pub's customers seemed to be very well lubricated and I didn't get the impression that the atmosphere would improve as alcohol continued to flow.
The barmaid was friendly enough and served me with a decent half of Ringwood's Razorback at just £1.40, the cheapest drink of the day and necked at speed.
The pub gets an optimistic 3 for serving real ale, but I would not be tempted back - I think it's best left to the Shropshire Lads and Ladettes.

Old Boots left this review about The Bulls Head
Biggish pub vaguely U shaped with a pool table at the back on one side. Fair amount of Victoriana in the fittings, mostly doubtful. Four pulls of Marstons stable beers, my first was so obviously a barrel end it was changed without a murmur, the replacement being fine; usual keg tosh around the central square servery. Live music when I arrived late Friday.
