The Alb is a worn wooden floored, mainly, cocktail bar that has some premium keg options available, including my favourite Blue Moon that was on good form. It’s not the biggest place with seating up the left-hand wall and a high table on the walk to the serving counter across the rear, although there is additional seating upstairs. There were a few afterwork drinkers in here during my visit when a bit of alt rock was playing in the background, so there was a bit of atmosphere. This isn’t my sort of place, but the heavily tattooed bloke running the bar was extremely welcoming, so yes, I will pop back in for another pint of Blue Moon when I'm next passing.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Albert Lounge Bar (The ALB)

Trendy bar / restaurant, already very busy late on a Saturday afternoon (and no doubt getting ready for a frantic evening ahead). The main room and smaller side room have light, modern furniture and decor (and there is also more space at first-floor level by the look of things, but I didn't venture up). Surprisingly, perhaps, there are two handpumps (albeit somewhat hidden away at one end of the counter) dispensing Greene King IPA and the 'house' ALB Ale (£4.00).

A trendy expensive cocktail bar! With Greed King IPA at £4 a pint, this place is definitely not for the beer drinker, especially after waiting for the barman to top up the champagne buckets with ice and prepare cocktails looking more like an ice cream sundae. My visit here was certainly just a Chesney!
