Set within a Victorian building this is part hotel part pub. The pub part is fairly standard and is quite modern. Nothing really special about the place apart from the relatively cheap prices. Sadly there's no real ale and just fizzpops. Lots of tellies for sport.

The Smithfield has reopened after refurbishment. Under the same ownership as the recently reopened Black Gate next door, but now run separately.
