Visited this Joules pub back in August on a weekday afternoon around 3pm. Five hand pulls with three clipped - Slumbering Monk, Pale, and a red ale whose name I did not make a note of. This is a small traditional pub, child friendly, with a mix of people in at the time of my visit.
Looks like there is a beer garden of sorts to the rear, which is at least part covered. There is also a passage to the side, with a couple of picnic tables. Inside, the main area has a low ceiling, old looking beams, a wood burning stove and chequered tile flooring. The rear area has less decorative looking floor tiling. The section off to the left of that is boarded, as is the front bar area.
Food is available, including various specials such as ham hock, rotisserie chicken, etc. Fish and chips seemed to be the popular option amongst the other patrons though.
The gents are basic but functional, if lacking in soap and containing a dubious mark on the tiles above the urinal.
Overall it was OK but not somewhere I could see myself rushing back to.

A Grade II listed building, claiming 15th century origins. More recently it's been taken on by the revived Joules brewery, who have gained a reputation for fake old pub interiors, but in this case they have managed to refurbish an old building while leaving it looking genuinely old. Even the five hand pumps have clearly not received any attention since the turn of the decade, or perhaps the century. Just Joules Pale and Slumbering Monk on; the Pale was ok (NBSS 3, £3.80/pint). My experience here was not enhanced by some rather too loud "popular music" on the radio from the 1980s - the music, that is: there's no reason to think that the equipment was that old.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Fox Inn
Must be one of the oldest pubs in town, with a compact bar (little bigger than a snug) and two slightly larger rooms (one with an entrance of the side alleyway) further back; all under low ceilings. Regular live music advertised. As a Joule's house, I found their Pale (£3.40) and Slumbering Monk on from a bank of five handpumps.
