Having left the Bay Blood to catch the 4pm bus, I found out it was 24 minutes late. There is a story there. Not wishing to stand unsheltered in miserable weather, I thought I would have time for a half here.

Ran by kids, listening to the latest bangers, my butty bach was poured by one girl, whilst another dealt with the payment.

Incredibly, the butty bach was perfect.

Large open plan rooms.

UPDATE: A quick return saw a rancid pedigree replaced without quibble with a decent Wainwright Gold as I chucked at the dartboard. Service fine, no real customers. Remains a stop off for one.

A terraced hotel, restaurant and bar with a nice courtyard patio area. The Marston's pub part has a Georgian styled facade,which is predominantly in white, with sympathetic windows. The interior has one long room that curves around the serving bar. at one end there is a dining area (top) at the bottom there is a sofa area that has a nice Victorian grate fireplace and china cabinets. The decor is cream, white and red, with a part wood floor. A silent TV was showing something and the jukebox was knocking out mixed music at a decent level. There are a few old photos on the walls, as well as mirrors and there is a forlorn looking piano opposite the bogs. The clientele seemed local and the service was friendly. Beer; usual stuff with Pedigree and a decent enough Cockerhoop. A happy enough stop-off for one.
