Wow - C16th Coaching House. #1 for food in Bridgnorth (according to Tripadvisor), in the Good Beer Guide 2017.
Had to be checked out.
Lived up to all expectations. Great staff. Prompt Service. Excellent Food and the best Hobsons Town Crier I have had.
The Stable Bar in the back courtyard is worth checking out - although its nothing to do with the pub.

This 16th Century coaching house is worth a visit and as Aqualung mentions, it does look like something from a film set. The pub has two main areas, basically a front and rear room, separated by a short stone wall with an opening for a fire grate. The rear room housed a small bar, with five handpumps, which were offering two from Hobson's, Wye Valley HPA, Ma Pardoes and Three Tuns Stout. I am not an avid fan of dark beers, but knowing the quality of Three Tuns, I went for a half of their stout, which was very good.

This is a genuine old pub in the heart of the High Town. It's so Olde Worlde it could almost be a film set with flagstone floors, beams and roaring fires.
I got here just before midday on a Saturday and it was starting to fill with people mostly looking for food.
The beer choice from the five hand pumps was rather pedestrian compared to earlier posts consisting of Hobson's Twisted Spire & Town Crier, Wye Valley HPA, Exmoor Gold and Butcombe Gold. I went for the Wye Valley HPA (£3.00) which was not just in excellent nick but a fair bit cheaper than expected for a food orientated pub that attracts tourists.
