Ian Mapp left this review about Bache Arms

My word - an unreviewed pub. And it's the only one in Highley, so I can only assume no one on PG has ventured into this part of the world.

Well, its open all day - which is a plus. I entered at 12:45pm. Met with a cacophony. First of dogs barking at me. They were on a lead but obviously took me for the stranger that I am. The owners giving me a stare that would have suggested that this was a prime spot for casting if they wanted to remake Straw Dogs.

Then the music started. My god, I am not exaggerated but we are talking night club levels. Have you heard "Living Next Door to Alice" at night club levels. On a Thursday lunch.

No cask, not that I would have trusted it. A very cold Guinness, which was OK. £5 min spend on the card, as I add to add dry roasted. A ruse that I am happy to be a victim off.
Friendly landlady.

Limited seating in a shabby main bar and I didnt want to give the dogs an excuse, so I sat alone in a tatty pool room. 50p a go.

Left with a local to get the hourly bus, that somehow managed to be 30 minutes late. Or early. The chap has a three hour round trip for his lunchtime pint. He said "Its a cracking pub isn't it".
