Now free of Thai, albeit still under Fuller's auspices, this is a decent alternative to some of the 'tough to love' options over the bridge in Wallingford, even though a couple of minuses were the egg-chasing-themed Front Row being a bit 'end of barrelly' and the bare-wooded décor being somewhat bland.

Bizarre - a Fullers pub that is in actuality a Thai restaurant with a bar. No atmosphere and only one other punter, in contrast to the Bell which at least had a fistful. Two Fullers ales, ESB and a decent half of Pride served up by a friendly Oriental lady who seemed a bit quizzical about us being in. Apparently a decent beer garden to the rear. Not really a pub and not much reason to drop in unless you’re after eats, it felt very uneasy sat in the quiet making conversation amongst ourselves which was clearly audible throughout the room.

The Queen's Head is one of those strange combinations of a traditional English pub one side and a Thai restaurant the other. The Thai family running it certainly make a decent job of both sides, even if some of the more arcane sides to English pubdom get a little confused in the translation.
It's a Fuller's pub running a Thai Orchid franchise is my guess of the business arrangement, so Fuller's beers in pretty good condition and the bar, all beams and open fires, popular with the locals, friendly and welcoming.
The restaurant is competently run as all are in that chain.
Is a pretty good pub in for the area nowadays, certainly better than most of those across the river in Wallingford. Stop by if you are passing.
