The Talbot Inn is a 17th century pub with two separate bars. To the left is an L-shaped serving counter and some seating that was being used by a few diners. To the right is a public bar with pool table and dartboard. During a recent Wednesday afternoon visit this public bar was packed with locals watching world cup rugby. The rugby was on ITV, but Sky and BT Sports are shown. There is a quiz every Thursday. Out the back is a large grass covered beer garden with picnic tables and what looked like a boules pitch.
Available from both bars was a standard keg range alongside Youngs Ordinary, Wells Bombardier and Charles Wells Extra Golden Ale. Food is served during lunch and dinner periods (kitchen closed Mondays), the cheeseburger is priced at £7.50. This pub doesn’t open until 17:00 on Mondays and is closed between 14:30 and 17:00 Tuesday to Thursday.
I found the service to be friendly and I liked this proper pub. I would have no problem returning here.

The Talbot in specialise in Pizza and Italian food but have a great selection of pub food. There's also a fantastic sunday lunch.
Massive beer garden, large car park, and a non smoking lounge bar.
The Talbot Inn also hosts the music festival for cheese rolling, held every year on the first bank holiday in May.
Good food, great atmosphere in a village location & Cask Mark approved.
