Alan Winfield left this review about The Feathers Tavern
The Feathers Tavern was situated in the middle of Stapleford at the roach junction and opposite the Chequers.
When we moved to Stapleford this became our local pub which we used on a daily basis for quite a few years.
Once inside the pub had two rooms with a decent sized bar to the right, this had a pool table and darts board in it the seating was leather bench type with small stools, the lounge was to the left this was a smart carpeted room with comfy bench seating and small stools and chairs.
The pub was a Shipstones tied house and there were two real ales on the bar with both Shipstones bitter and mild being very nice drinks here.
The pub started going downhill in the late 90s and stopped having real ales on with the bitter being John Smiths smooth crap, the pub finally closed its doors around 2009.
The pub is now being converted into flats so it has now gone for good.
We had so many good times in this pub and it is a great shame that it has now gone for good.
Pub visited too many times to mention.
