Despite the unusual building, this is a classic half-arsed Craft Union place painted in grey with little internal lighting and a strong whiff of after-hours fags. Amusement value from The Smiths blaring out of the speakers, wonder what Morrissey would make of this place. Two pumps with just Hobgoblin Gold on - my request of a half turned into a pint which didn't clear. Taken off with good grace, and a panic buy of John Smiths meant I did myself out of 50p in the process. Busy at half two on a Wednesday, so the locals are content enough.

The Rising Sun has a raised seating to the left and a pool table towards the rear. The bar counter on the rear wall to the right faces seating that runs to the front entrance. Televisions are located throughout for showing live sports, World Cup football commentary was competing with some background music. Standard keg is supported alongside Staropramen and Birra Moretti. The three hand pumps were drawing TT Landlord, Adnams Ghost Ship and Wychwood’s Hobgoblin. This is a forgettable high street boozer.

The Rising Sun is a very popular pub in Kettering Town centre. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and there wasn't a spare table. A small bar area with Ghost Ship on handpull. I had a Guinness. I noticed a lot of TVs showing sport and a pool table behind the bar area. A small courtyard with stairs leading up to a seating area for the smokers. Not much to recommend.
