Comedy Spoons which appears to be an amalgamation of a number of buildings. There's a bar ahead and to the left serving a very narrow bar area, which was populated by a daytime brigade of varying states of inebriation at 3pm on a Tuesday afternoon. Real Ale Ray's two banks of five pumps remain, with some doubling up of usual suspects, although there were three JDW International collab beers, including a brown ale from Good Word (brewed at Adnam's) entitled Read the Room. I did just that, after paying £1.85 after using my 50p off Timbo Token, and found somewhere a little quieter, and heavier on the abandoned cutlery and crockery. The pint was in great shape (NBSS 4), so thumbs up for the beer at least. This pub faces The Dun Cow on the other side of the narrow Brook Street, which also offers wallet-pleasing daytime pint prices, and was similarly bustling with rum old coves.

Large Spoon's which is a bit of a maze inside. A little tired to be honest and in need of a refurb. Nothing that exciting beer wise with Spitfire being the only guest beer I noticed alongside the regulars.

A Grade II listed mid 18th Century building that was originally a coaching house. It was quite difficult to find any signs of this from the interior. The only room to resemble any history to the building was the large lounge at the rear, which looked to have been the original reception room, along with the original fireplace and mantlepiece, that is now painted in white gloss. The front section of the pub had a couple small rooms with low ceilings. The left hand side of the building was the new extension, which housed the bar area and a first floor lounge, which had a high vaulted ceiling. Two banks of 5 pumps, doubled up, serving Abbott, Ruddles, Doombar, Adnams Broadside and Grainstore Ten Fifty. We went for the Grainstore, which was fine, whereas the majority of the locals favoured the Abbott.
