Alan Winfield left this review about The Cricketers
The Cricketers was an ugly looking 60s built pub that was halfway down north marine road.
When i first visited this pub it was a Bass tied house and there were only keg beers on the bar but when we went in this pub in 2003 things had changed for the better.
Once inside there was a large room at the front which was quite smart and comfortable, there was another room at the rear which was more of a games room and there was also an upstairs room which had great views over north bay.
We went in this pub most days on our holiday in 2003 as it was close to our hotel and there were 8 real ales on the bar, these were mainly micro brewery beers with usually a few from York brewery and the beer quality was very good.
As i have said this pub looked nothing from the outside but once inside this was a really nice friendly pub with decent beer.
Sadly this pub has now closed down no doubt to be converted into luxury flats that will have great views over the north bay.
