Pretty much a local's pub, who tend to congregate around the front bar. A few visitors who were most probably staying here, were having a bite to eat. The interior was comfortable with a mix of boarded and tiled flooring, white painted walls, apart from a bare red brick wall at one end. The two main features were the sanded back and scorched timber bar front and the two pillars on the bar, which were elaborately decorated in the style of Klimt, as Old Boots observed. The two young barmaids looked up the local artist online. Four pumps with three on, TT Boltmaker, Landlord and Ossett Yorkshire Blonde.

I had just time for one more pub before my train, but when I got in here at around 5pm on a Saturday it was busy with people placing large orders and only one person working behind the bar, which is centrally placed in a large room with the kitchen directly behind it. There were three hand pumps, with Ossett Blonde the only beer on, and I didn't see anyone else drinking it. Given that I had spent half of my allotted 10 minutes waiting to be served, I decided to have a whisky, and spotted a bottle of Dalwhinnie on a shelf behind the bar. Without my glasses I couldn't read the card terminal screen, so it was a surprise to check my bank statement and find that I'd paid £6.50 for a 25ml measure.

Much as before except the pool table has gone to be replaced by tables and chairs. Three pulls out of four in operation, Wainwright, Ossett Blonde and Landlord, not sure how they managed to make the Wainwright taste of salt and vinegar but they did. Bar blockers aplenty as well on a Saturday visit.
