April 2011
Over turning a good few years of history this has now been renamed as "The New Park- Lounge Bar and Restaurant" and with a curry restaurant in the extension to the rear/side "The Massala Lounge @ The New Park"; this is after a couple of recent false starts renaming the pub. There has been a total revamp of the front bar which is now tastefully modernised with light woods, leather sofas and a blue underlit bar counter. The beer engines have gone and the beer range is about the same, Becks has been replaced by Cobra and there's some John Smiths Smooth. Decor changes have replaced the big flag, screens and machines with something a little more tasteful, the walls for example now have a French air with wine and cafe themed prints. The curry menu is a little different to the norm.

Old Boots left this review about The Little Wonder
Named after the 1840 Epsom Derby winner "The Little Wonder" its best days are probably behind it. A large whitewashed hotel on a major roundabout where the A61 and A59 meet, the last pub in Harrogate when leaving for the north. Two large rooms, one a dining area the other very much a public bar with lots of machines, big screen telly, pool table and a dart board. Décor comprises football shirts and scarfs with a big Engerland flag nailed to the ceiling. The pool table and darts mat take up some of the space but there is plenty of bench seating, stools and tables plus standing room and stools round the bar. Beer is a myriad of cheap lagers, Stella, Fosters, Becks, Carling plus Guinness and cider. There are two beer engines but they are unused. Not a wholly unpleasant place if the beer and football is to your liking, other wise a bit chavvy.
