The Railway is basically located in Thetford Railway Station’s car park so I imagine there’s a bit of transient trade, although during my recent midweek evening visit the three guys at the bar all looked to be locals. The doors open at 16:00 Monday to Thursday, in time to catch the commuters on their way home. Friday’s opening time is 14:00. The interior is J-shaped with a central L-shaped bar that serves the sparsely furnished front of the pub and a dart area to the left. there’s some seating up the right to a second dartboard on the rear wall and in the front left is a pool table. There was some background music playing and the television was off. The bar supports standard keg alongside San Miguel and Estrella. The two hand pumps were drawing Purity’s Gold and Mad Goose. Bar food is available, the burger is priced at £8. The service was friendly, but the Fosters line could do with a clean. The outside suggested that this was going to be a nice cosy pub with traditional décor, but this wasn’t the case. This isn’t somewhere I’ll be rushing back to.
