With so many great back street boozers in close proximity, this needed something a bit different to stand out. How about two coal fires side by side - with space for about two tables inbetween? How about Bass? How about a Bathams Pump Clip that means it must have been on at least once.
Very good beer - including a well curated Belgian/German bottle selection.

Very busy on my visit, the L shaped room with eight handpumps on the bar, I went for a tried and trusted Salopian Oracle and found it to be in good nick. I'd like to try the pub when less busy but what I saw I liked.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Kingston Arms
Last stop on my way back to the station, and absolutely rammed when I called in due to some post-work retirement celebration involving a large group which made it very difficult to move around and get a good feel of the place (although what I saw was appealing). That said, I could reach the bar easily enough and the staff were efficient, so I had a quick Batemans Dark M (£4.80, and in great shape) from one of the seven active handpumps, with the other in the process of being changed. Deservedly popular by the look of things.
