The Red Lion is a Stonehouse Pizza and Carvery so it was not surprising to find an adjacent large car park. The bar supports a standard keg range and the three hand pumps were all unused. All of the table in the main bar area are for diners, although there is a small back bar that was showing football. This is not a place I will be revisiting.

A large roadside carvery pub just up from Moorside station. One part was swamped with hi-vis jacket wearing sweary blokes whilst a couple of tables away several families were eating ping cuisine. Sadly most people in here thought they were "going out for a meal". Yes, I know that sounds snobbish, but this place is really crap. Totally corporate decor with no real features at all. 3 handpumps on the bar, but only one badged with GK IPA and they didn't have any. When are they going to have it if not on a Friday evening. Truly dire.

Amazing carvery! Service was a little slow at first but then someone else took over the carvery and it sped up. Extremely good food though, especially for the price! Best value ever.
