Visited 22/12/25. Visited previously 29/06/21.

Four handpumps, two not clipped, the other two offering Black Sheep Best Bitter and TT LL. Keg offering of Aspall, Pillars Helles, Neck Oil, Guinness, GK Hazy Day and Estrella.

Always been a foodie venue and remember coming here frequently in the early to mid-90's whenever my parents were in town to stay with me. Today what used to be a lovely patio seating area at the front on a tree lined street has been swamped by a white marquee to house more diners in a variety of seating configurations, with tall patio heaters, but not required today. Inside the venue is U shaped with the left-hand side truncated with the bar counter following the inside shape of the venue. The venue is bare boarded with tall stool seating at the front and immediate sides. Walls have a fair quotient of olive-green painted boarding, lighting subdued and lots of regular tables and chairs all occupied by diners on my visit, so literally the only space for drinkers like me were the stools at the bar counter. There is a garden out the back with picnic benches. Whilst I am sure this is noteworthy as a dining destination, and I would be very happy to return here for that reason, it doesn't feel as charming as the destination I remember of 30 years plus ago., in fact I would not bother returning here just for a beer, much better options for that purpose in the postcode area.

This is now very much a gastro pub / restaurant ( it recently made it into the Time Out list of 20 best Gastro pubs in London), and I can give personal experience that the food in here is indeed superb. There is a large rigid gazebo covering the outside front section of this pub containing bench seating, which I guess is a hangover from the pandemic and could well now be permanent, and inside the largely stripped out interior very much feels more of a restaurant than a pub.
The bar does have four handpumps and two of these were in operation for our visit and I couldn’t fault the pint of TT Landlord I had to complement the meal. By all means search it out for its menu, but if you are just after a pint then there are much better ‘pubby’ options nearby.

Another very food centric pub, it looks traditional from the outside but the feeling evaporates once within. Beers on were Robinsons Magnum,Olde Hoppy Hen and TT Landlord.A little average.
