There was no real ale on in here, although one of the two handpumps appeared to have a reversed Courage clip. A half of Guinness was a very reasonable £1.60. I saw no sign of food on Tuesday afternoon.
As you enter the area on the right has a dartboard and pool table, a bit of bench seating with no tables, and a table with a couple of chairs pushed up against the wall. To the left is a couple of sofas, with some low and scruffy cheap pine tables in front of them. It's carpeted with a well-trodden dirt-encrusted carpet, and there's a bit of outside seating at the back. There was no decor of note that I saw.
This is a bogstandard local's pub. As I sat in this dying breed of a grubby backstreet local on a sofa so low my knees had a job getting me up out of it, drinking my half of ice cold Guinness (no John Smith smooth crap unfortunately) I gave a thought to Alan W - he would have loved it. I do hope this pub survives for the locals who no doubt love it for the simple boozer it is.

A basic back street local with few customers on a Friday night.Painted throughout in brilliant stark white. One long room with pool, darts, machines and tv.No real ale but they did have a handwritten sign for keg Youngers bitter £2.10 a pint. Was not tempted away from my half of Stella.
