A traditional pub located just off the High Street, it consists of two bars along with a car park and a small covered patio area at the rear for the smokers. I had been planning on eating here, but unfortunately food is only offered on Wednesdays.

The lounge bar runs along the front of the pub and whilst it is quit traditional décor wise with a red patterned carpet and pine wood panelling on the lower part of the walls, the paintwork is perhaps a little more contemporary being a mixture of cream and pale green. A large stone fire-place at one end has been converted in to an alcove with seating, although it still retained a wood burning stove. Several candelabra here were an unusual feature, and there was a low chocolate colour sofa at the opposite end. The rear bar looked a little more basic with a laminate wood floor, a pool table and a plasma screen, although this was not in use on my visit. Various notices on the walls advertised forthcoming music and quiz nights.

Beers on tap were Young’s Special and Eagle IPA whilst the solitary cider was Strongbow, unfortunately. Overall I thought this was a decent enough pub for a quick pint, but not somewhere I’d necessarily make a point of returning to.
