Rectangular bar with pool table in the front section. Regular seating behind with servery on right hand wall. A couple of TV's, one doing a reprieve of the weekend action. A couple of traditional arcade games underneath and a dart board to the left thereof. Every inch of wall space is taken up with Irish sports memorabilia. The music was way too loud but given the excellence of the choice it was effing fantastic.
No cask. Keg was Guinness, Coors, Carlsberg, San Miguel, Carling, K1664 and regular flavoured Strongbow. The Guinness was the obvious choice here and it was one of the best pints thereof I can recall in recent times.
This is a very traditional Irish venue, it was incredibly vibrant and, in many respects, atmospherically an order of magnitude more interesting than the sterile atmosphere but formerly magnificent venue that is the King's Head a couple of minutes' walk away. I looked at the previous reviews here before attending and whilst it is clearly some way off a 10 it is clearly not a 2. It is what it is, it won't appeal to all but in my view was a bit of a gem. For me that it is nudging to a little above average 5 (below on general beer choices but enough above on ambiance. Given my sports leaning I almost certainly would choose this over the disappointment that was the aforementioned King’s Head. This felt like a proper pub, the King’s Head has country mile clear material advantages but is now sadly style over substance.

Can't say I agree with the review below. Nothing going for this place. Walk in past a pool table to the bar on the right side. All keg rubbish, no hand pumps. Has a Irish feel to it. Will not be returning.
