There has been a serious refurb here to the part of the building to the left of the entrance lobby.This has created a modern bar vibe with a raised ,carpeted section with a vast leather banquette around the front windows and a wood floored area around the bar with a pool table and juke box at the far end.Furniture was modern without being garish.There was a friendly welcome from the barman,a F1 fan,and only one flat screen was showing the Sky Russia coverage of Fulham v The Toon so no commentary,pictures only.The barman asked if we wanted the other screen switched on but we declined.There were two handpumps with CW Bombareindeer with a flashing red light and Brains Fir Kin Good ,a christmas special at £3.Although well kept by the pub this is another poor Brain's beer and I was not impressed by what was on offer on the real ale front.
To the right in the entrance lobby there is another section that was closed but I could see a bar counter with only keg dispensers , another pool table and sparce furniture. Possibly this section is used on busy nights.
The juke box had some good sounds,and mute Sky screens have some advantages but with two very undistinguished real ales on offer,the temptation is to do a walk by,see whats on and be prepared to go elsewhere for a quality pint.Shame as it's basically a decent pub.

Excellent to see my "local" reopened and beautifully refurbished. I will be a regular!
Now....how about some Belgian beers? As a free house there is so much to choose from...and it would be unique in MK. Start with Leffe, Grimergen, Kwak (with the special glass!)and nobody sells Grolsch here....why not on tap...great Butch beer...especially the unpasturised version in the tradition flip top bottle which is imported directly from NL!
