A rare Monday in the Smoke, so able to tick off some of the ones that are closed on my usual Saturday.
A lovely, traditional boozer that's down a side street and easy to miss. Single roomed, with a wooden bar back saying "Courage". Front has a leaning ledge but a distinct lack of skiving workers leaning on it.
Doom Bar, Landlord and Harveys Sussex best doing their best representation of a meat loaf song.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Bell
Small, and thus very crowded after work, but one of the best around Cannon Street station. As is customary in and around the Square Mile, many of the customers are usually to be found outside on the pavement (just as well, as there is precious little seating inside the irregularly-shaped bar). Apparently there is also an upstairs dining room (never visited). Broadside (£6.40) as a guest on this visit, but on a post-work Friday, the regular Harvey's was "having a bath" and the Landlord had "gone fishing" according to luggage labels on two of the five handpumps - the perils of drinking at a City pub not open at the weekend!

Small still traditional pub but appears very popular with office crowd, beamed inside and offering real ale, its nice but busy
