Steve of N21 left this review about The City Tavern
The City Tavern is located on Lawrence Lane, just of Cheepside, half way between Bank and St Pauls.
Architecturally it's not much to look at outside, and despite the efforts to brighten it up with various flower troughs, it is still essentially a concrete block stuck between the high rise glass office blocks of this area.
But inside it is better with a more traditional pub feel interior decor with wood panelled walls and a wooden floor.
Also has a decent size roof terrace for the summer months but did not venture up here on my visit.
It's a GK house with only two handpumps, which were dispensing GK's Royal London Beer, and IPA when I was there and the London Brew was pleasant enough.
It's a solid pub in a small area of the city which is largely void of traditional boozers and is only slightly let down by a weak ale choice.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The City Tavern
Didn't have time to visit the roof terrace, but this place seemed to have a bit more character than most City pubs. Limited choice of Greene King beers, but well kept.
