A surprisingly light and roomy feel to this Kensington Square pub, with the interior in a sort of Georgian style with modern twists. To the rear is an also surprisingly large square room with a Shufl table and some big screen TVs. Quite a few large tables with padded benches are included in the furnishings. Draught beers were the obligatory IPA and Abbot with Bedlam Amangansett as guest and very drinkable too. A pleasant pub which just needs a better beer range to go up a level.

No beer of any substance in here. Fairly quiet with the cricket on mute. Nothing much to recommend a revisit.

A pub has existed here since 1687. Rebuilt in 1899 and restored in 1977 following a gas explosion and now under the aegis of Taylor Walker, just like The Goat Tavern around the corner, meaning that two TW pubs back to back was a bit hard to stomach. Nevertheless, unlike The Goat, this is off the tourist trail and in this very rich area has a more upmarket and less tourist-orientated client base and is appointed accordingly.
Typical TW with loud sport, games machines, 50/50 carpeted/boarded, muted music to compete with the footie, pictorial menus and condiments on tables. Also on display are some rather ugly aircon vents.
Ales: Greene King's IPA and London Glory, Taylor Walker's 1730 and Purple Reign at £4.50 a pint and fine.
This is a better than average TW pub but nevertheless it's still TW so I don't envisage a return visit. There's far better locally.
