Another pub dating from the late 18th century, only to be rebuilt just over 100 years later.
It’s described well below, so I won’t bother repeating what’s gone before, but it’s a bit of a sorry experience really, with staff now clad not in black, but GK’s trademark Black Watch tartan. There were two TVs dominating proceedings with the sound turned down insufficiently, so I had that half-time Meerkat advert fizzing into my ear from above, which I could hear above the rather loud music. There was an ugly Clear Channel advert board glowing brightly right in front of me; seating is exclusively tall tables and chairs to the periphery, along with some wide drinking ledges; there’s hardly any décor and customers seemed to be visitors to the area, most were seated outside.
Just GK IPA, London Glory and two pumps dispensing Abbot, so I went for my new London staple when faced with the inevitable: Neck Oil at a painful £3.35 a half.
This is really rather a poor pub, primarily benefitting those doing a spot of shopping in adjacent Oxford Street, but ultimately this place has nothing for the discerning pub visitor.
Rated 3.5.

Small one roomed Greene King pub with weak real ale and the cider was off for my visit. Will not be returning.

Yet another Taylor Walker outlet. This one has a small L shaped interior with the usual T&W fittings - bits of dark varnish wood plus some etched and frosted windows. Sports TV. Four ales on and a crappy old selection for T&W standards, 3x GK (Abbot, London Glory, OSH) plus Westerham 1730 which was in decent shape. As usual it's expensive prices, this one cost £4 50. Utterly functional and unremarkable.
