Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The George & Dragon

Was still a Greene King pub when I last visited over nine years ago, and the brew-pub era has long since gone too. Typical semi-traditional London corner-pub look inside and hanging baskets along both sides. Four disused handpumps, but two hooped founts - each with eight keg taps - offering a good selection from mostly smaller breweries such as Siren, Salt, Five Points and Northern Monk, plus some less usual offerings such as my Stone & Wood 'Pacific Ale' (understood to be brewed by Thornbridge, £7.50).

Nestling in the shadow of sleepy Fitzrovia's Post Office Tower, the other night was a first in here and I'm happy to report that the unpardonable act of putting sauce bottles on tables has been abandoned - result! It would also seem that this is no longer a Greene King house - double result! Indeed, the pub has been leased to BrewIT Microbrewery, with brewery in the cellar. There are also now some higher tables and chairs to the picture windows. Otherwise, it's well described below, right down to the recently installed and rather asinine 'plumbing' that masquerades as beer pumps. There's an attractive bar back and much good dark wood panelling with a bare boarded floor. Knick-knacks adorn a high level shelf and there's a bookshelf to the right of the fireplace, sadly unused despite the bitter chill, delivered courtesy of the Beast from the East. What's more worrying is the projector screen - mercifully retracted - yet ready to drop at a moment's notice, like some lambent portcullis, trapping the unwary.
It's quite studenty in here, though the University of Westminster is nearby so that provides something of an explanation; most of them seemed to be American and well-mannered. There's food but it's basic comfort food such as fish 'n' chips, a burger or lasagne; all mains are priced at around the £7.50 mark which is outstanding value for this part of London.
Ales: given the nature of the stupid plumbing and lack of pump clips, I couldn't make out what was on sale. I recognised the name 'Maharajah' so assumed it must be one of my faves from Thornbridge. It tasted good but so it should at £2.50 a half so I'm assuming that at this price it was the Real McCoy.
This is a nice little traditional pub, unshackled from the Greene King behemoth (or beermoth?).
I'd love to come here again but please get the old pumps back? From a sales perspective it makes much more commercial sense to present a pump with a recognisable clip with all the information that entails.

Quite a nice little basic Greene King backstreet pub. Stripped floor and dark wood panelling with various china ornaments on high shelves as well as some quite eye-catching Greco/Roman style busts and statuettes on the windowsill. Pub cat in situ, called Gizmo. Sadly the beer wasn't up to much; GK IPA, London Glory and Belhaven Grand Slam; the latter was well past its best, flat and lifeless brown liquid. Waistcoated landlord made me expect better! If the beer was up to scratch, this’d be worth a revisit.
