A cosy local with a homely feel in the old marketplace, aided by a smattering of domestic furniture. The bar is at the front, with a dining room off to the side. Ales were restricted to IPA and OSH at time of visit, but well kept. Quite adequate.

A nice white rendered pub, which looks like a little row of former cottages, in the market place. There is a small patio at the front and a nice beer garden at the back. I only saw one room - which was mainly in darkness due to my very late visit! which was an L-shaped room, with the serving bar facing you on entry and a side extension populated by pine foody tables. Elsewhere there are a few sofas. The decor has white walls and ceiling, with a red carpet, with a brick fireplace. There are a few old photos on the walls. I didn't eat so i can't comment on the food. I didn't see a TV and the background music was general stuff at an OK level. I had a really good chat to the bloke behind the bar, so it was a friendly place - there were just no other customers, again, as i just got last orders maybe. Beer; usual tap stuff with Spekky Hen and Hardy's and Hansons' Bitter on handpull, with H&H MILD on keg - the bitter and MILD were both decent enough. A pleasant stop off - i would like to go back, maybe to eat next time. Worth a pop in.
