A really local locals' pub with no fripperies, well apart from the temporary Halloween rubbish anyway. I was pleasantly surprised to find Lees Dragonfire on handpump but sadly it was approaching vinegar, despite the best efforts of the barmaid to pull some through. This left the dreaded Doom Bar, which was actually in very good condition. Friendly locals though.

Plough Boy is a small local boozer that had two other customers during a recent Thursday early evening visit. They both became quite vocal when a Premier League football match kicked off on the televisions throughout. I think it was Brighton v Man U, so I’m not sure why they were so invested. There is seating in the windows either side of the central entrance, banquettes to the right and high tables on a carpeted area to the left. Wood flooring runs around the L-shaped bar counter on the left wall and in the seating area to the right rear were the aforementioned sports fanatics were sitting. There is a dartboard up on the wall, one of those black ones with no trebles ring or 25 around the bull. Out the back is a small covered seating area for smokers. I found the service to be very friendly, but both hand pumps were unused which left only standard and premium keg. I walked past better pubs to get here so I don’t think a revisit is on the cards.
