The first of a number of wonderful olde English villages in Rutland. On entering past an anthropomorphic porcine chef, the pub is made up from three semi knocked-through rooms off right from a reception area. It’s mainly tiled flooring, white woodchip wallpaper, padded bench seating, beamed ceilings and exposed stone walls – all rather nice. Three ales at the bar; GK IPA, Nene Valley Lone Star (on the turn, taken back and taken off) and ‘Summer Ale’ brewed for pub but barman didn't know by who, which was a lot better. We sat in the little Croft Cubbyhole which made for a nice place to imbibe, and we also tucked into some homemade crisps. Spotted later was a pleasant outside drinking area. It’s a nice little place, unfortunately the first duff beer knocks it off being a higher mark. 6.5

This is a really nice pub that is set sideways onto the road, there is a small grassed area with picnic tables outside and you can also play petanque here.
Once inside the main bar area faces you this was a really nice comfortable room to have a drink in there was another room to the left which also looked quite nice with large chunky wood tables.
There were three real ales on here i had a drink of Pot Belly best from the Pot Belly brewery and this was a very nice drink the other beers were Grainstore Springtime and GK Abbot.
This was a really nice cosy pub and we were quite happy having a drink here
