A faintly dreadful pubco pub, it belongs to Admiral who are advertising the tenancy. Long and narrow it’s on two floor levels with a short front seating area of tables and chairs when you enter, then up three steps to the main bar area. The counter is on the left on the higher level, two quad T-bars of nothing extraordinary except a beer from local brewery Round Corner. Three pulls stand at the end of the counter all off, two unclipped and a Taylors Boltmaker with a reversed clip and an advertising stand placed in front. Blanded out in classic pubco style however it retains some neat stained glass panels along the counter canopy. Nobody in apart from me to start with although the local scooter/motorcycle club or perhaps Hells Angel chapter were gathered outside, they came in for a drink later as did a possible Ménage à Trois who played pool. Low tables in the front area and high ones on the upper one, there’s a pool table and two darts boards at the back, piped music from a commercial source, machine and screens, oddly the screens were showing the rather lovely and gentle “Canal Boat Diaries”.
