Unusually, this is a country pub operated as a quasi-Desi operation. Seven pumps (!) with two cask on, Doom Bar and a slightly odd-tasting Landlord (NBSS 2). Décor-wise it is quite contemporary but some of the older fittings have been retained and blended-in, eg the attractive 1950s(?) bar upper. Huge jumbo screen was a distraction. In true subcontinental fashion, the place is big on cricket and motorbikes, with one of the latter being raffled-off – a fine specimen it looked. Other items of interest included a small collection of flat irons and 60s cameras. A shame that my cask wasn’t up to snuff, as I quite liked the place otherwise.

This is quite a decent looking pub and not bad inside too i visited here on the 20 March 2010 saturday afternoon but i thought the beer selection was a bit poor i had Banks's Bitter which was ok the other beers were Bass, Greene King IPA and Old Speckled Hen. The pub was fairly busy but in my opinion could do with at least one local micro beer on the bar.

You can see from the new photos this pub has now been taken over by a new young management team and the drinks are some of the cheapest around. Food is traditional grills and quality steaks for around £14.95 which includes your chips and bits.
Sky Tv is available so you can watch all the lions and twenty twenty matches. Dont bother with the old website as it is a bit dated and the new one I have listed will be on line soon. Staff are very friendly and the celler is well maintained. Real ale drinkers will have a great time here.
