The more lively and down-to-earth of the two village pubs next door to each other. Has had a recent makeover in the bar area which is a bit dull and gloomy but at least holds a bit of atmosphere. Two cask pumps round the side with just GK IPA on, which in fairness was excellent (NBSS 4 - ‘sometimes one is plenty’ etc) served-up by a friendly guv'nor. Dogs everywhere and everyone knows each other. Not one to get the pulse racing but in terms of serving its community successfully it was doing well, and I can’t knock that.

The Horse and Groom faces the Britannia and i think is slightly the better pub there were 3 handpumps that i could see the Taylor Landlord was a decent drink there was also Adnams Broadside and Greene King IPA this was quite an olde world type pub.
