Wet led and fairly unspoilt village pub in the middle of nowhere (I had no phone signal at all in here), it seems to attract a loyal band of regulars despite the remote location and lack of a food offering. Lots of jolly Lancastrian blokes were in on an early Thursday evening. The background music ranged from 90s house to cheesy 50s rock and roll, so i’m assuming it was a random selection from the jukebox. The usual country pub clutter inside, a fish tank, several fireplaces, horse brasses etc. it’s a proper pub. It’s in the beer bible too but a selection of Wainwrights, Tetleys and a Moorhouses seasonal won’t excite many, it’s all well kept though as you would expect. Let’s hope the pubco leave this one well alone, I really took a shine to it - shame I was driving.
