Personally I quite liked this rather large pub. Yes the beer selection was a bit samey, but it was in good nick. They have live music an Friday & Saturday nights and there's a decent sized beer garden to the rear. I'd happily calling here again.

Close to the bus station ,this ale house has a large open plan interior with the bar in one corner,a pool table and darts board,a raised section to one side and internal slatted blinds which I really dont like as they restrict sunlight and external views and emphasise the garish flock wallpaper.Some old boys were blocking the handpumps which on my trip were offering Little Critters Little Hopper,Rooster Krush'd Dreams,Daleside Monkey Wrench,Lakes Brew Pale Ale,and Westmorland APA (NBSS Poor ,clear yet metallic) along with 2 Lilly ciders.
Four very similar low strength pales showed a lack of imagination and this 2026 GBG entry didn't live up to expectation.I might avoid in future.

A large and lively town pub next to the bus station with monochromic décor including some quite striking flock wallpaper. A good selection of interesting ales was on offer, plus some craft and boxed Lilley's, although my choice of Westmoreland APA proved to be not great. Not my favourite pub in the centre but handy for the buses.
