Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Anchor

Given the generally upmarket nature of the surrounding shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, it is a pleasure to find a nice old-fashioned boozer (and especially one that appears to be thriving). Partly opened out to form a 'J'-shaped bar, with fairly plain furniture and decor. Friendly welcome and food served at lunchtimes, with live music and other events advertised. Three handpumps, offering the regular Harvey's and Anchor Imperial Ale from Wantsum plus Long Blonde from Long Man as the guest this time. GBG listed for many years, and you can see why, and well worth seeking out.

Cask was Anchor Imperial Ale from Wantsum Brewery, the Gadd's Seasider Golden Ale and the Harvey's Sussex Best. Keg was Madri, Guinness, Fosters, Carling, K1664, Magners.

Utterly lovely traditional pub, U shaped with bar counter following the shape of the venue on a bare boarded skirt, the remainder of the venue on the sides and front being very traditionally carpeted. Banquettes around the outside perimeter serving regular tables. There is a fire grate on the front right-hand side wall not lit on my visit and there was a covered piano at the rear of that side. A single screen was showing weekend recorded footy action absent commentary, the sound a low volume 60's compendium. Lovely traditional decor. Venue had a poster saying it had been continuously in the GBG for more than 20 years - no shit Sherlock as I thought it was a cracking pub with excellent beer.

Back in Sevenoaks - just a note to say this is how a pub should be run.

Unlike the Black Boy next door, where I thought I was the invisible man, I was greeted by the landlord who introduced himself, asked where I had walked from, shook my hand. Allowed a try of a fine pint of Franlins English Garden.

Pub as noted before but welcome appreciated.
