Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Britannia
Slightly scruffy outside, and an odd castellated façade above the single-storey front extension, but the interior is tidy enough and the view over the Turner Contemporary and the harbour beyond from the picture windows offers something to those walking up the hill. Plain, restaurant-style furniture, but some mixed ephemera and Christmas decorations help liven things up. Also has a rear patio garden. Meals available (including breakfast). Nothing doing on the three handpumps on my late-December visit, so went for the bottled Whitstable Bay Pale from Shepherd Neame (£4.00).

Good live music on the weekends. Great garden for kids. Easy parking.
