Draped with numerous Sky Sports banners, the Pelham Arms sits on a roundabout adjacent to a car park to the right. The front entrance isn’t used due to tables sitting across it, so the entrance is from the right-hand car park side. Inside there’s a pool table and seating towards the front of the pub and in the front left corner is a raised area with a dartboard. A large curved serving counter dominates the rear of the pub where some banquettes are found under the right-hand rear windows opposite. Tucked around the back of the counter to the left is another dartboard, and the televisions throughout were showing muted tennis via Sky Sports while the likes of the Scatman played from the jukebox. The old school landlady was friendly enough, but the draught range wasn’t impressive with just standard keg being available alongside Cruzcampo and Birra Moretti. This is a typical sport orientated local boozer, so I liked it and would pop back in if passing, but many with a more discerning taste would give it a wide berth.
