Strongers . left this review about The Earl Grey
The Earl Grey is an L-shaped Shepherd Neame pub that had a handful of older locals in attendance during a recent Wednesday evening visit. The front of the pub is at street-level with a dartboard to the right of the entrance and another in a separate area on the rear wall to the right of the serving counter that runs across the rear to the towards the left where if faces red banquettes under the front windows. These banquettes continue up the left-hand wall to some steps that ascend to a left rear seating area with more banquette seating and some chopped logs that sit against a white radiator across from a fireplace on the opposite wall. There’s also a third dartboard up here. I’d seen some dart teams practicing in other pubs earlier in the evening, so I assumed that the pub was quiet due to their team playing away. The woman behind the bar was friendly enough, but two of the four hand pumps were unused which left Spitfire and Masterbrew as the cask options. There are also seven usual SN keg options as well as Fosters. I found the atmosphere to feel a bit strained, so I was glad when the jukebox piped up to cut through the atmosphere. I’m not a huge fan of SN or their pubs, and this one has done little to change my mind.
