Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Royal George

Odd-looking and basic 1960s boozer (replacing an older pub with the same name, and with an upper floor added in the 1980s) between the town centre and Harbour Arm. Wedge-shaped bar, smaller than you might expect, but plenty of outdoor seating for the better weather. No cask ale, so resorted to the keg Doom Bar (£5.20) from the limited keg options.

The major draw of the Royal George seems to be the large triangular seating area out the front that is lined with picnic tables. The interior is smaller than I thought it would be considering the size of the outside seating area. The bar is located on the left hand wall where standard draught products can be purchased.
There is a plasma screen that was showing muted rolling news and I didn’t spot any live sport advertisements. There was some music playing that I thought was very loud for a Monday afternoon. There is a weekly disco every Saturday night.

I found this place to be quite bland and if I wanted to drink outside in this area I would choose one of the pubs on the Stade. I’m sure that this place gets a lot of tourist trade due to its location, but those travellers that are a little more adventurous will find much better in the area.

Loud and packed when I looked in on a Sunday evening. Discovered that the Electric Beatles were playing. Looks to have regular live music at weekends. During the quiet of a Summer's day there's a nice outside patio area.
