The Lamb is a large pub with a central L-shaped serving counter that serves three distinct areas. To the right is a seating area with a pool table and dartboard and in the centre is the main entrance and some more seating. The three locals in attendance during my recent Tuesday late afternoon visit were sat in the larger main bar area that runs up the left-hand side of the pub where another pool table and dartboard can be found at the rear. Sky Sports is advertised, but the televisions throughout were all off, except the one above the fireplace in the main bar that was playing the Chase. There’s a worn carpet throughout, in fact the dated décor mentioned in the previous review from 2013 is still in situ. The service was friendly, but the short walk out of town isn’t worth the effort for a revisit.

A large multi-roomed local in good (if a little dated) decorative order, a five minute walk south from the town centre. When I visited on a Saturday afternoon everyone was congregated in the main bar with loud horse racing and various raucous card games on the go, with a small decked area to the rear with unusual sky blue table tops and some potted foliage. Three ales on the right-hand room's bar (Two Cocks Diamond Lil, Tribute and Pride). My Diamond Lil was in very good shape and came in at £1.75 for a half (the lass behind the bar did a double take on my request for a half, guess they don't get many crawlers...). One downside was that it came in a Carlsberg glass. Darts and were pool available. Won’t be to everyone’s taste here but I thought this was a good solid local worthy of seeking out on a crawl.
