A busy local on the fringe of East Cowes in a Victorian building with its own small car park. There were two bars, but only one was open. The open bar was carpeted, there was a pool table and a dartboard, and the WiFi worked. It's dog friendly and caters for local families. Food is the basic pub grub type, and they do theme nights such as curry evenings. The staff were pleasant enough, but the locals were not very welcoming; indeed the nicotine guard which blocked the front door seemed to resent our asking them to let us past. Two ales on, Theakstone XB and Doombar, just about drinkable. Not really worth making the effort to walk up from the harbour for, but might be a useful stop for refreshments of visiting Osborne House.

My wife & i held our Wedding reception in the back room of this lovely pub. The staff were on the ball for all our needs. The food was A+ & the service was second to none. All our guests were made welcome & some that had not been to the pub before, have come back a couple of times. Due to the friendly atmosphere.

A recently refurbished cream rendered detached pub with red paintwork, with double gabled entrance and beer garden.
The interior has two rooms set out in an L shape to the bar, separated by a simple partition. The first room is a bar, with a pool table and darts, as well as footy on the Sky TV. The second room was a dining area, but also had a dart board. The rooms were in cream, with old photographs on the walls. The service was fine and the clientele mixed, including families – perhaps because it is over the road from Osborne House, or West Ham were on the telly!
Beer; tap stuff, with a decent enough Bass MILD on keg, with Bass and a reasonable Hobgoblin on handpull.
The pub was a victim of its own success in the sense that it was too busy for a miserable person like me, so after a swift half or two, we left.
