A 17th Century town pub which has been refurbished while managing to maintain character. There is a car park behind which is reached from the High Street. There is no real garden, just a terrace with tentage at the back, which does let the look down a bit but serves a purpose. The left half of the pub is now a restaurant, the other half a carpeted bar formed from two rooms knocked together leaving a brick chimney in the middle. There’s also a separate function romm, The Braganza Room. There’s a lively local buzz, and they host a lot of activities like quizzes and raffles. Food is locally sourced and is overall good value. Ales on were Irving Type 42, Hopback Summer Lightning, Goddard’s Fuggle Dee Dum and Upham Fields of Gold, all in excellent condition, plus live music acts. Scrumpy Wasp Amnesia was also on draught. The best place to eat and drink in Titchfield, well worth visiting.
