As rob said,this is a real locals local.I've had many a great Friday and Saturday night in here in years gone by.Very friendly locals and decent beer.This pub comes a close 2nd to the nearby Ashton Arms.

Proper locals pub between the two main thoroughfares of Yorkshire Street and Union Street. Horseshoe shaped bar with leather look seating with the standoffish pub terrier asleep on one, some interesting B & W prints on the walls and a nice bit of floor tiling. Unusually for Oldham it's still a traditional pub, not a ripped out barn. Being a Sam Smiths pub the bitter was £1.56 per pint, sadly it was keg though. A few middle aged punters in early on Friday evening all gently pissed and talking garbage. A proper pub.
